Langhorne Creek is surrounded by ancient river red gums growing on the only flood irrigated wine region in South Australia. A premier red wine producing district where locals delight in sharing their stories of the Lake Doctor, a wind coming off nearby Lake Alexandrina.

Enter behind the scenes at Bleasdale, to see old hand-hewn red gum vats, and taste their signature wines. A highlight of this visit is viewing the enormous 3.5 tonne lever basket press, famously crafted from the timber of ancient local trees in 1892.

Bremerton cellar door is a renovated horse stable built in 1866, providing a wonderful atmosphere for wine tasting. Owners Rebecca and Lucy Willson became the first sisters to run a winery in Australia.

The Winehouse provides a cellar door for tastings of 5 wineries, allowing you to sample some of the finest. Also home to Langhorne Creek’s first craft beer label, Meechi Brewing Company. A quirky mix of old and new in a tranquil setting showcasing seasonal foods set amongst the vineyard.

Enjoy strolling the parks, pubs or shops in the charming town of Strathalbyn. Unofficially known South Australia's antique capital, we can safely say that vintage shoppers won't be let down.
