Peter Teakle Wines
Eyre Peninsula
Peter Teakle Wines is paving the way in transforming Port Lincoln and the Eyre Peninsula into one of South Australia’s foremost wine regions. From the moment you step foot onto the picturesque winery, it is abundantly clear that the team, now led by Peter Teakle’s son Ben, is passionate in positioning the region at the forefront of everything they do.
In line with their commitment to producing as locally as possible, Peter Teakle Wines has invested in a multi-million dollar, 100-tonne wine crushing facility on-site, which ensures harvested fruit remains in pristine condition. Overseen by chief winemaker, Liz Heidenreich, the grapes, grown on-site, are complemented by the region’s unique maritime climate.
In addition to a stellar team and world-class facilities, Peter Teakle Wines also boasts a state-of-the-art Cellar Door, which has swiftly become a Port Lincoln and Eyre Peninsula landmark since doors first opened to visitors in 2020. Locals and tourists alike have flocked to the multi-million dollar Cellar Door, well-known for its distinctive curved aesthetic reminiscent of a trio of wine barrels. The building, which boasts picturesque views of Boston Bay and Port Lincoln, received the Best Building Excellence Award in the two to five million dollar category at the Master Builders SA Awards 2021.
